Julie Wright Land Company has helped people buy and sell land across the Triangle for more than 40 years. Julie started the company in 1972 after leaving a career in nursing, and the idea behind it was straightforward: find the right piece of land for the right buyer, or find the right use for a piece of land somebody already owns. That has not really changed.

What has changed is how much there is to know. Soil and topography, zoning rules and road access, taxes and estate planning all factor in, and we work through them with you so the decision feels clear by the end. Our five brokers cover eight counties across central North Carolina, including Wake, Durham, Granville, Franklin, Vance, Harnett, Nash, and Chatham, and most of what we know about these communities came from spending decades in them.

Julie Wright

Julie has been helping clients buy and sell land in the Triangle area for over 40 years. She got her start helping farmers subdivide small parcels in what was rural Wake County and is now known as "North Raleigh." Her areas of expertise include Wake, Durham, Granville, Franklin, Vance, Harnett, Nash, and Chatham counties. Julie is a farm girl from southeastern Minnesota, but has called Raleigh home for more than 40 years. She hates cold weather and never visits Minnesota in the winter! She is an active member of Rotary International and has helped them with several projects in Nicaragua, including construction of libraries and schools. When not at work, Julie values her time spent with her 7 grandchildren. A very versatile grandmother, Julie also specializes in wrestling, running, softball and basketball, tennis, ice skating, rock skipping, and frog catching! Having been referred to as "Mother Nature," "The Green Queen," "Land Momma," and so on — rumor has it that Julie has sold several times the waterfront property where God parted the Red Sea for Moses and the Israelites to cross! All kidding aside, Julie is particularly focused on helping clients find the right piece of land or the right use for their land. The details in assisting clients from soil and topography challenges, to access and zoning details, to tax and estate issues — Julie's expertise is critical when looking at all options. Born and raised in Wake Forest, North Carolina, Alex graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Accounting and Supply Chain. After gaining early experience as a Staff Accountant and later transitioning into procurement and operations, Alex discovered his true calling in real estate and land development. With an extensive background in meeting strict deadlines, enhancing operational efficiency, and fostering strong client and vendor relationships, Alex has successfully partnered with local builders to develop residential subdivisions and commercial properties. His expertise spans across the entire development lifecycle — from land acquisition and site planning to construction management and final delivery. Robert Powell is your North Carolina real estate agent, who would be pleased to show you properties in the thriving, growing communities in and north of the Triangle. Robert has been in the real estate and mortgage profession for two decades both as a Managing Partner at Southern States Mortgage and as an agent with the Julie Wright Realty Group. His experience in finance and real estate has been most beneficial when structuring an offer for a purchase or pricing for a sale. Robert has given back to the community and church in many different capacities. He has served as Oxford’s City Council member, Chair of Global Mission Committee for The Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, Director of the Kiwanis Club, and Vice Consul for the República de Costa Rica, where he had a business. He also helped organize building teams to Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua where they build classrooms, medical buildings, and kitchens for schools and communities through the Rotary and Episcopal Church. He is currently on the Advisory Committee for the Boys and Girls Club of North Central North Carolina, which supports children in Granville, Vance, Franklin, Warren, and Halifax counties.

I am a Raleigh native, I started real estate in New Home sales in 1984. Development of new home neighborhoods has been my passion, and that dream came true in 1998. The areas I developed in over the years included Raleigh, Holly Springs, and Morrisville. I was very proud of the beautiful communities that I was able to see through to the end and to watch the homes fill up with happy new homeowners. That is what I love about Land Development! I recently joined Julie Wright Land Company and teamed up with my wife of 33 years, Mary Ammons, making this my 40th year in Real Estate! As a team we now provide expertise in land acquisition, development and sales, new homes sales, and resales throughout the triangle and all surrounding areas. I am more the land guy, and development guy, my wife is handling all the rest.
